Bills to Protect Dreamers, Other Immigrants Introduced in Senate

Legislation to protect young, undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children now is active in both the House and Senate.

Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Richard Durbin (D-Ill.) March 26 reintroduced the Dream Act, which would provide legal status and a path to citizenship to young immigrants if they meet certain residency, education, and security criteria. The bill is identical to one the senators introduced in the last Congress.
