Bills Targeting Pharmacy Benefit Managers Move Forward in House

Bills to stop pharmaceutical middlemen from profiting off the size of the discounts they get from drugmakers and increase access to more affordable generic drugs advanced through a key House panel on Wednesday.

More than 20 bills, which include proposals to ban agreements that tie pharmacy benefit managers’ compensation to savings they achieve for health plans, were approved by the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s health panel.
