Biden’s Hybrid Work Deal Thwarts Trump’s Plans, House GOP Says

The Biden administration’s agreement to lock in hybrid work for tens of thousands of federal workers hinders President-elect Donald Trump‘s plans to reshape the federal workforce, House Republicans said Wednesday.

Martin O’Malley, in his last days leading the Social Security Administration, signed an agreement with the American Federation of Government Employees that enables select employees to work from home part-time until 2029. AFGE represents 42,000 agency employees. That deal represents a major block to Trump’s efforts to force these workers to report to their offices after he takes office, lawmakers said.
