President Joe Biden has revoked three executive orders that made it easier for agencies to fire federal workers and harder for unions to represent and bargain on behalf of agency employees, along with a fourth order that would have made it easier to hire and fire thousands of federal employees in policymaking jobs.

The orders targeted by Biden on Friday restricted federal workers’ employment due process and collective bargaining rights, and created a new “Schedule F” job category that critics said would essentially make policymaking employees at-will workers.
