The US Supreme Court’s Thursday decision curtailing the Environmental Protection Agency’s authority to regulate power-plant emissions offered conservatives a new weapon to unravel much of President Joe Biden‘s agenda in areas well beyond the environment.

The 6-3 ruling, written by Chief Justice John Roberts, primarily derails the EPA’s plan to shift power generation away from fossil-fuel plants to cleaner sources. But it also took a swipe at the entire executive branch’s ability to regulate other areas of American life.
