The departments of Homeland Security and Labor will release 35,000 additional H-2B temporary work visas for the second half of fiscal 2022, the agencies announced Thursday.
U.S. employers and members of Congress on both sides of the aisle had pressed President Joe Biden’s administration in recent months to release more supplemental visas to alleviate labor shortages. The administration earlier this year issued a rule to release 20,000 supplemental H-2B visas for the first half of the fiscal year.
