BIC Graphic Faces Class Action on Covid-Based Layoffs Notice

Scribe Opco Inc., doing business as BIC Graphic, must face as a class action claims by a former employee that it laid off him and hundreds of other workers nationwide at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic without providing the advance notice required by federal law.

Eric Jones’ December 2020 suit under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Act meets the criteria for class certification and Jones may serve as class representative, the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida said Thursday.
