BCTGM Members Strike Against Hostess; Company Closes Three Production Plants

Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers, and Grain Millers members employed by Hostess Brands Inc. continued to strike Nov. 13 at production facilities across the United States for the fifth consecutive day, the union announced the same day.

The union represents some 5,000 Hostess employees.

BCTGM members are protesting “the company’s unilateral imposition of a horrendous contract that was rejected by 92 percent of the union’s Hostess members in September,” the union said in a Nov. 9 statement.
