Bayer Chemist’s Staffing Firm Contract Requires Bias Arbitration

Bayer Crop Science LLC and a staffing firm can make a Black chemist arbitrate her allegations of a hostile work environment, discrimination, and retaliation based on her race and gender, a federal judge said.

The worker’s employment contract with Rose International Inc. includes a valid arbitration agreement which covers the disputes stemming from her work at Bayer, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri said. The chemist said that clause was unenforceable, but her arguments “all miss the mark,” the Tuesday opinion said.
