Avis Budget Car Rental LLC managers asked a federal judge to sign off on a nearly $1.8 million deal to resolve their allegations that the company stiffed them on overtime.
The settlement covers operations managers at Avis rental locations across the country and in Puerto Rico who say the Avis Budget Group Inc. unit misclassified them as exempt from overtime pay even though they spent most of their time on non-exempt tasks, such as washing cars and driving them from one rental counter to another.
