An Austin, Texas, paid sick leave law violates state law and will remain on hold, a state appeals court ruled Nov. 16.
The Texas Third Court of Appeals reversed a prior ruling from the 353rd District Court, which had denied a request for an injunction from a coalition of Texas businesses. The ordinance was supposed to take effect Oct. 1 but has been on hold since August while the appeals court reviewed the case.
