Atria Senior Living to Pay $1.3 Million to Settle OT, Break Suit

Atria Senior Living Inc. has settled a suit alleging that it violated California law by failing to pay its community sales directors overtime wages and provide rest and meal breaks, the parties told a federal court.

Atria, which operates 46 senior and assisted living communities in California, agreed to pay $1.3 million to settle the dispute brought by two groups of workers, the parties said in a motion seeking Judge William Alsup’s approval of the deal.

The company denied wrongdoing of any kind, saying it complied with all applicable state laws and compensated employees appropriately.
