Arthur J. Gallagher Fired Christian Worker Over Faith, EEOC Says

Global insurance brokerage Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. questioned and then fired a Christian employee over his fasting for Lent and suspected workplace praying despite his good performance, the EEOC alleged in Colorado federal court.

The questioning included a June 4, 2019, meeting convened by client underwriting associate Yu Noda’s manager and the director of operations of the brokerage’s Centennial, Colo., office, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said in a complaint filed Wednesday.
