Aronowitz Confirmed as Government’s Top Employee Benefits Cop

The US Senate confirmed President Donald Trump‘s nominee to head up the government agency regulating private-sector employee benefit plans.

Daniel Aronowitz was confirmed Thursday to serve as assistant secretary overseeing the Labor Department’s Employee Benefits Security Administration.

His confirmation was approved 52-47 as part of an en banc package of 48 executive branch nominees.

Aronowitz has long worked as an insurance executive specializing in protecting employer 401(k) sponsors against fiduciary breach allegations by workers and retirees.
