A lawsuit alleging the Arizona government failed to pay corrections officers for their time spent in daily security screenings can move forward because their claim isn’t blocked by federal law, a state appeals court said Tuesday.
Clinton Roberts and Donna Christopher-Hall allege they and their fellow corrections officers must undergo extensive security screenings at the start of their shifts that add an average of 30 minutes to their workday. They seek unpaid wages and treble damages under Arizona law.
