Arizona Copper Maker Faulted in Sprawling NLRB Judge Decision

An Arizona-based copper producer repeatedly violated federal labor law in a massive case involving a 2019 strike and events related to the Covid-19 pandemic, a National Labor Relations Board judge ruled.

ASARCO LLC, which is owned by Grupo Mexico, committed unfair labor practices ranging from surveilling and threatening workers to refusing to reinstate strikers and discriminatorily firing employees, Administrative Law Judge Sharon Steckler held in her 243-page ruling Monday.
