Applebee’s Franchisee Settles Sexual Orientation, Race Bias Suit (1)

Neighborhood Restaurant Partners Florida, LLC, which operates an Applebee’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill restaurant in Plant City, Fla., has agreed to pay $100,000 and give injunctive relief to settle a sexual orientation and race discrimination lawsuit against its Plant City location, the EEOC announced Monday.

Two staff members repeatedly verbally harassed a Black employee with racist and homophobic epithets and one wore paraphernalia of the Confederate flag while working, the agency alleged.
