Apple Illegally Fired Workers, Union Says in Labor Charges (1)

The Communications Workers of America filed two unfair labor practice charges against Apple Inc. on behalf of retail workers in Kansas City, Mo., and Houston, accusing the company of firing and intimidating employees for organizing.

CWA filed the charges Monday with the National Labor Relations Board. The union alleges that Apple fired five workers at a Kansas City retail store for their union activities. Some of the workers were forced to sign illegally broad severance agreements, the union said in a statement Tuesday.
