Apple Inc. and Google Inc. won final court approval of a $415 million settlement, ending four years of litigation over claims that they and other technology companies conspired not to poach each others’ employees (In re High-Tech Emp. Antitrust Litig., N.D. Cal., 5:11-cv-02509-LHK, 9/2/15).
The $415 million settlement “should send a strong message to defendants,” said Judge Lucy Koh of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
Koh had previously rejected a $324.5 million settlement, finding the amount to be inadequate in light of the plaintiffs’ strong evidence of a conspiracy 153 DLR A-9, 8/8/14
