A federal appeals court put an end to two former union election candidates’ efforts to stop the takeover of an International Association of Machinists district lodge and reinstate them to their former positions.
The International Association of Machinists union initiated trusteeship of District Lodge 142 in January 2022 after IAM President Robert Martinez said that “financial malpractice” was endangering membership and union interests. The IAM removed the district lodge’s then-president, David Supplee, and then-Secretary-Treasurer Ian Scott-Anderman as part of the takeover.
