Another Worker Classification Case Hits California Supreme Court

California Supreme Court justices agreed Wednesday to consider an appellate ruling that a three-factor worker classification test retroactively applies to pending litigation in a case involving Southern California bus drivers.

The court granted review to San Gabriel Transit Inc., a company that coordinates with public and private entities to arrange transportation services for passengers. A potential class action involving 550 drivers, filed in 2014, alleges that San Gabriel Transit misclassified drivers as independent contractors.
