Ann Arbor Hotel Penalized After Worker Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited Victory Inn and Suites of Ann Arbor for six serious violations and two willful-serious violations totaling $155,600, after a maintenance worker’s death, according to a Tuesday statement.

The hotel was issued the maximum penalty under law after the worker was fatally poisoned by carbon monoxide, the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity said. The maximum penalty for each willful violation is $70,000, according to the department.
