Anheuser-Busch Brewery Workers Nab Class Status for Wage Case

Anheuser-Busch LLC workers who say the beer company owes them pay for pre- and post-shift work secured a federal judge’s permission to pursue their wage claims as a class.

Common legal and factual questions predominate over any individual ones for the 400 to 500 workers who fall within the newly certified class, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia said. Questions of whether the Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV unit compensated workers for certain pandemic-related tasks—and whether Virginia law requires such compensation—are common to the class, the Thursday order said.
