Ametek Manager Gets Gender Discrimination Suit Revived on Appeal

AMETEK Inc. must face a gender bias claim brought by a female former finance manager who was passed over for a promotion in favor of a male coworker, the Third Circuit said Wednesday.

Amy Brown provided sufficient evidence to raise a factual dispute over Ametek’s proffered reason that she wasn’t promoted because she offloaded tasks and didn’t take on special projects, the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit said.
