HOUSTON—American Airlines’ three main labor unions representing pilots, flight attendants, and mechanics/fleet service workers formally confirmed their support for a possible merger with US Airways, the unions jointly announced April 20.
The Allied Pilots Association, the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, and the Transport Workers Union that represent nearly 55,000 employees at the Fort Worth, Texas-based carrier said they have reached agreements on “term sheets” for collective bargaining agreements that would govern American Airlines employees at the merged airline with US Airways.
