The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said in a lawsuit that American Airlines, Inc. violated federal law when it refused to provide a reasonable accommodation for a blind reservations representative and then fired her,

The lawsuit filed in Texas federal court Monday alleges that American Airlines failed to provide screen reader software or transfer the employee to another position after she developed cortical blindness. Instead, the airline kept her on unpaid, involuntary leave for almost four years before terminating her employment.
