American Airlines Owes Customer Service Reps Overtime, Suit Says

American Airlines Group Inc. allegedly failed to pay customer relations service representatives overtime wages for work performed before their shifts officially started, according to a new suit in Arizona.

The airline’s workers spend approximately 15 minutes booting up their computers and logging in to programs without pay before each shift, which keeps them from earning overtime pay for that labor, according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the District of Arizona.

American Airlines didn’t immediately respond to a Wednesday request for comment.
