American Airlines and Pilots’ Union Reach Tentative Accord With 23 Percent Pay Hike

Leaders of American Airlines Group Inc.'s pilots’ union Jan. 3 accepted a tentative agreement with the company that would provide an immediate 23 percent pay increase to some 15,000 pilots, followed by additional raises in each year of the five-year contract.

The agreement must be voted on by members of the Allied Pilots Association after all of the language in the accord has been finalized, the union said in a statement.

American, which merged with US Airways in December 2013, wants to quickly reach new, joint contracts with its unions so employees in each labor group will have common pay ...
