AMC Pays N.Y. Movie Theater Workers on Wrong Schedule, Suit Says

American Multi-Cinema Inc. pays theater crew members, maintenance technicians, and ushers on a bi-weekly basis in New York state, in violation of a state law requiring weekly pay for manual workers, a former employee says in a proposed class suit.

Richard Hurd alleges he spent at least 25% of his time on the job performing physical tasks, qualifying him as a manual worker under the state’s labor law. He filed his suit June 10 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
