Amazon’s Suspension of Union Leader Illegal, NLRB Judge Says (1)

Amazon.com Inc. committed several unfair labor practices after employees at a Staten Island warehouse unionized, including suspending a worker for 10 weeks with pay because of his position as a union leader, a National Labor Relations Board judge ruled.

While Administrative Law Judge Benjamin Green ruled against the company on Tuesday regarding Amazon Labor Union co-founder Derrick Palmer’s suspension, he dismissed the allegation that it illegally suspended and discharged worker Pasquali Cioffi because of his union activities.

The mixed ruling stems from labor-management disputes at two Staten Island facilities, including the warehouse where the ALU won an election in 2022. ...
