President Donald Trump’s termination of National Labor Relations Board member Gwynne Wilcox emerged as an obstacle to Amazon.com Inc.'s appeals court attempt to halt a labor case based on its constitutional challenge to the agency’s structure.

Trump’s firing of Wilcox functionally neutralized the very removal shields that Amazon targeted in its lawsuit against the NLRB, making it difficult for the company to meet the high standard for a preliminary injunction, judges on the the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said during oral argument Thursday.
