Amazon Union Moves to Join Teamsters, Seeking to Boost Ranks (2)

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters said the first-ever independent union of Amazon.com Inc. warehouse workers has agreed to join its ranks, marking a potentially powerful yet uncertain alliance against one of the largest US employers.

The Amazon Labor Union has “formally affiliated with the 1.3 million-member strong Teamsters union,” the Teamsters said in a post on X Tuesday. The union didn’t offer more details on the merger, hammered out between Teamsters President Sean O’Brien and ALU President Chris Smalls.
