Amazon to Pay $950,000 to End California Worker Expense Claims

Amazon.com Inc. agreed to pay nearly $1 million to workers in California who alleged the company failed to reimburse them for internet expenses incurred while remotely working during the Covid-19 pandemic under an agreement filed Thursday in federal court.

The settlement motion covers 6,937 current and former Amazon corporate workers who are or were based at one of the company’s nine California office locations and worked remotely for at least one pay period from March 15, 2020, through July 1, 2022.
