Amazon Must Defend Against Maryland Wage Claims in Class Action

An Amazon.com Services LLC worker convinced a federal court that she’s entitled to pursue as a class action her claims seeking pay for time that fulfillment center employees in Maryland spent in security lines after their shifts ended.

But Judge Brendan A. Hurson of the US District Court for the District of Maryland on Monday asked the state supreme court to weigh in on whether the small amount of damages at issue are recoverable under the applicable Maryland wage laws.
