Amazon Given Until Summer to Comply With Worker Safety Subpoenas

Amazon.com Inc. has until June 30 to completely hand over some 230,000 documents to comply with an OSHA subpoena request, a federal judge in Seattle ruled.

In the interim, the online retailer will have to meet a series of deadlines to release specific documents, such as records from Amazon’s medical director and director audits as well as ergonomic reports and logs of documents that Amazon wants to withhold due to attorney-client privilege.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration had been seeking swifter compliance, at one point requesting some worker safety information in February. The agency was concerned that Amazon’s pace ...
