Amazon Flex Drivers Advance Unfair-Practices Claims in Tip Case

Drivers who make deliveries through Amazon.com Inc.'s Flex program can pursue tip-related claims under a Washington state consumer protection law, despite the e-commerce giant’s earlier settlement of similar claims, a federal judge said.

The workers sufficiently alleged that Amazon and subsidiary Amazon Logistics Inc. didn’t provide them with 100% of the tips they earned for deliveries despite promises to the contrary, and they may be entitled to more relief than the earlier settlement provided, the US District Court for the Western District of Washington said.
