Amazon.com Inc. escaped a federal judge’s order mandating that the e-commerce giant comply with federal labor law in connection with allegations that it illegally fired a worker for his organizing activities at the company’s Staten Island warehouse.

The US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on Wednesday threw out the broad cease-and-desist order against Amazon, which was granted at the request of the National Labor Relations Board.
