Amazon, Delivery Partner Defeat California Worker’s Wage Claims

Two Amazon.com Inc. subsidiaries and one of their delivery service partners fought off a lawsuit alleging the companies jointly employed California workers and ran afoul of wage-and-hour requirements under state law.

The Rejoice Delivers LLC worker who filed the would-be class action against it, Amazon Logistics Inc., and Amazon.com Services LLC didn’t provide enough detail to back up the claims, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said. The “wholly inadequate” complaint lacks specifics on which defendant allegedly did what, how they violated the law, and even what role the plaintiff held, the Tuesday order said. ...
