Amazon Defeats Negligence Suit Over Warehouse Worker’s Death

Amazon.com Services Inc. defeated a lawsuit accusing it of negligently contributing to a worker’s death by heart attack, after a federal court in Illinois said Monday that his estate failed to show that an alleged delay in calling 911 was a substantial factor in his death.

Thomas Becker worked for a contractor at Amazon’s fulfillment center in Joliet, Ill. Early one morning in 2017 Becker suffered a heart attack.
