A delivery driver for Amazon.com Inc. can move forward with a lawsuit claiming that the company should be responsible for overtime violations and be considered his employer, even though he was hired by a subcontractor, a federal judge in Seattle ruled.

The evidence Brady Edmonds presented is sufficient to allege that Amazon was his direct and joint employer, that he worked more than 40 hours a week, and that he didn’t receive overtime pay, Judge James L.
