Amazon Asks High Court to Dispel Cloud Over Driver Arbitration

Amazon.com Inc. told the U.S. Supreme Court that litigation is piling up thanks to uncertainty over when transportation workers should be exempt from arbitration pacts, a key issue for their business model that they say divides federal appeals courts.

Amazon wants the justices to review a ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit that found that the company’s drivers can move forward with a proposed nationwide class action, despite agreements they signed, because they fall under an exemption of the Federal Arbitration Act.
