CHICAGO—Members of the Air Line Pilots Association at United Airlines have elected a new slate of officers to lead them in negotiations as the bargaining unit seeks a new collective bargaining agreement with Chicago-based United Continental Holdings Inc.
ALPA announced Oct. 18 that Jay Heppner had been elected chairman of the United Airlines Master Executive Council. Heppner is a Boeing 777 captain based in San Francisco and has been a United employee for 26 years. Heppner, who currently serves as chairman of the United MEC negotiating committee, will commence duty as chairman Jan. 1, 2012.
