Airport Screener With Fibromyalgia Fails to Show Disability Bias

A former security officer with fibromyalgia was unable to convince the First Circuit that the Transportation Security Administration discriminated against her on account of her disability or her pregnancy when it fired her.

TSA’s parent agency, the Department of Homeland Security, was entitled to summary judgment on Almaris Serrano-Colon’s claims, because it provided sufficient nondiscriminatory reasons for her termination, Judge Kermit V. Lipez said Wednesday for the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
