Washington’s paid sick leave law doesn’t violate the U.S. Constitution or federal preemption law, a federal court ruled, guaranteeing benefits for Washington-based airline flight crew workers.
“Today’s judgment is an important win for Washington workers. The court agreed that Washington’s paid leave law applies to flight crews based in Washington, and protects them from policies like those airlines use to threaten discipline or dismissal if they use their sick leave,” said Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson in a statement provided to Bloomberg Law. “This decision protects the health of Washington workers, and the air travelers who pass through our state.” ...
