Airline Labor Groups Sue U.S. Over Decision on Norwegian Flights

Airline unions representing more than 100,000 workers sued to reverse the U.S. Transportation Department’s decision authorizing Norwegian Air International to offer trans-Atlantic flights at discounted fares (Air Line Pilots Ass’n v. Foxx, D.C. Cir., 17-1012, 1/12/17).

Allowing the carrier to serve U.S. destinations is “disappointing and undercuts key protections in place for working men and women,” AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said in a statement Jan. 12.
