Air Methods Flight Paramedics Secure 634-Person Overtime Class

Air ambulance provider Air Methods Corp. must face a 634-person class of flight paramedics and nurses who say they were denied overtime pay, after a Colorado federal judge on Tuesday certified the case as a class action and trimmed one claim from the suit.

The plaintiffs, who worked for Air Methods in Michigan, New Mexico, and Illinois, accuse the company of violating those states’ overtime laws by excluding certain time spent sleeping during 24-hour shifts from its overtime pay calculations.
