California contractor General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. has agreed to pay $954,000 in back wages to 901 workers, the Labor Department announced Aug. 27.
The San Diego-based manufacturer of unmanned aircraft and surveillance systems under contract with the Air Force acknowledged violating the McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act. The federal law mandates contractors performing services as part of federal contracts of $2,500 or more must pay their workers no less than the wages prevailing in the locality, according to the DOL’s statement.
