Air Force Beats Physician’s Privacy Suit Over Sexual Misconduct

The Air Force prevailed in a lawsuit brought by a former military physician, who claimed it violated his privacy rights after he started work at Fort Bragg Womack Army Medical Center by disclosing findings to the Army that he had sexually assaulted a female officer.

The Air Force attorney who shared the findings with Womack “had no intent to violate the Privacy Act” in disclosing information that constituted a patient safety issue, Judge Ana C. Reyes of the US District Court for the District of Columbia said in a Wednesday order granting summary judgment to the Air Force.
