AI Regulation in California on Employers’ Mind, Survey Shows (1)

Employers are closely watching California for potential regulations about the use of artificial intelligence tools for human resource tasks, a survey conducted by management-side law firm Littler Mendelson PC showed.

Just more than half of respondents to the survey said they’re concerned about measures that might come from the Golden State, outpacing every other jurisdiction, including New York (33%), Illinois (30%), and the European Union (19%), according to the report released Monday.

“California is where the game will be won or lost,” said Niloy Ray, a Littler attorney and co-author of the report.
