The potential impacts of regulatory changes targeting artificial intelligence are top of mind for US businesses, surpassing even concerns about diversity programs’ legal risks that dominated in 2025, according to a survey by employment law firm Littler.
Among the 300 US-based business leaders surveyed, 84% said they’re expecting policy changes related to AI to affect their operations, up from 42% in last year’s edition. As the concern about AI regulation doubled, anticipation around diversity, equity, and inclusion regulations moved in the opposite direction, dropping to 38% from 84%.
